Career

Mr. Koike studied mechanical engineering, ocean development technology, geophysical prospecting, fluid mechanics, physical chemistry and chemical industry at Kyoto University. He joined the Japan Patent Office in 1976, where he was involved in patent examination and appeal as an examiner for 30 years in the technical fields including business machines, urban infrastructure, applied optics, optical devices, metal processing, architecture, civil engineering, and measurements. He joined YAMAKAWA in 2007, and has been practicing patent prosecution, opinion works and counselling in various technical fields including mechanical engineering and chemical industry for domestic and foreign clients. Mr. Koike was appointed Vice-President in 2016. Mr. Koike was appointed Advisor in 2019.
