Before joining YAMAKAWA in 2013, Mr. Motoyama worked for a telecommunication company for 25 years, where he was initially engaged in research and development of satellite communications and wireless communication, and then moved to its intellectual property department and dealt with intellectual property issues including prosecuting patents, licensing and litigations. While working for the company, Mr. Motoyama also took part in the activities of Japan Intellectual Property Association, JIPA, and chaired its Patent Committee in 2007-2008. Mr. Motoyama was appointed Vice-President in 2019.
